FAQ

What questions should I ask my Vet to ensure that my pet is being treated with respect and dignity?

Ask your Veterinarian, or the Cremation Provider directly if possible, these important questions:

  • Where is the crematory located?
  • Do you own and operate your equipment?
  • When can I come and inspect it?
  • Will my pet be cremated alone or are there other pets sharing the cremation chamber?
  • Will my pet be held in a garbage bag in a freezer?
  • When will my pet be cremated and then be ready for pickup?
What is the difference between a Truly Private Pet Cremation and an 'Individual'?

A Truly Private Pet Cremation SM is where the pet is cremated alone, without any other pets in the processing chamber.

Individual cremation, sometimes called “Separate”, “Partitioned”, or “Private” cremation is a procedure during which more than one animal´s body is in the cremation unit. Though a method of separation is used some commingling of remains is probable.  Due to a number of factors, the commingling of cremated remains is probable.  The return of the ashes can make it confusing for pet parents to distinguish between a Truly Private Pet Cremation SM  from Individual  (‘Separate’ , ‘Partitioned’, ‘Private’) cremations.

Austin Pet Memorial Center performs only a Truly Private Pet Cremation SM  and not “Separate”, “Partitioned”, or “Private” cremation.

How can one be sure that the cremains they receive are the cremains of their pet?

We offer the only ”Certified” private pet cremation in Austin.

All pets are tracked using certified Pet Tracking Process. Pet parents are welcome to view as much of the operation as they are comfortable seeing. Our doors are open to the public. We use a video verification system to ensure that your pet was Privately cremated.  Because we have a video verification process, we will “Certify” that your pet was cremated completely alone.  You are also welcome to be on our premise during the cremation with no additional charge, because we really are providing you with a Truly Private Pet Cremation SM, and we can easily verify this process to you.
How can I assure my pet parents that their loved one is going to be treated with dignity and respect?

Austin Pet Memorial Center is open to the public and has an open door policy to all operations.  We welcome them to observe as much of the aftercare process as they are comfortable with.  We have a Memorial Room and dedicated reception area, and pet parents may wait for their pet to be returned to them.
